Pakistan helped Indian students in Ukraine on humanitarian basis, says FM Qureshi – Pakistan

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmoud Kureshi said on Thursday that Pakistan had helped “suffering” Indian students leaving Ukraine for humanitarian reasons.

He exposed while talking about the situation in Ukraine in an interview with the press in the Mirpurkhas district of Sindh. The Foreign Minister is now leading PTI’s Haqooq-i-Sindh march along with several other party leaders.

“You must have seen the video. [showing] The fleeing Indian students were provided with food and looked after by the Pakistani embassy. They were children, they were in trouble [and under] So, on a humanitarian level, we did what was possible for them.”

Qureshi’s comments came after a video posted on social media showing Indian students sitting and eating with Pakistani students in a cafeteria-like setting.

At the media meeting, the minister said he also spoke with counterparts in Poland, Romania and Hungary.

“By God’s grace, most of the children have arrived in a safe place. We continue to work hard to ensure that the remaining children return home.”

The minister called this a “challenging situation” and said the Pakistani embassy was playing an appropriate role.
